Jimmy Free heard his calling to the violin at a surprisingly young age. As a child, he was performing old-time fiddle music with his grandparents on stages throughout Washington state.
Jimmy's music has since evolved to encompass both classical and contemporary musical elements. The range of his custom-made violin extends lower than a cello and higher than a violin. Pairing The Peacemaker with a Boss RC50 loop-station, Jimmy takes listeners on a hopeful and rhythmic adventure, inspiring audiences to paint their own picture of personal awakening within their subconscious.
Jimmy still feels at home performing to audiences in his native Pacific Northwest, but his ethereal sound has transcended to a more expansive audience.
Jimmy is a Featured Artist at the Portland International Airport, and in the last couple of years has collaborated with filmmakers and other artists featuring his infamous improv violin solos.
He also enjoys a raw vegan lifestyle, and enjoys coaching others on the benefits of holistic living.
